/ INSTALLATION VERSUS SCULPTURE
After 20 years of working exclusively with installation, I have spent the past 15 years working with installation and sculpture concurrently. The installation is a story about the transitory, the temporary in any condition, the fleeting. The installations have been large spatial installations, you could move around in, and which were only finished once the audience moved in them as participants.
Contrary to the time-limited dimension of the installations, I work with the more lasting life of sculptures as an expression of “the great story”, the principles behind life as process.
I have always been fascinated by myths and petroglyphs, and this is what my figurative sculptures reflect. As an example, I can describe some of the thoughts behind VIRAGO. The two human figures can be seen as an equal couple.
